Charity for Wheelchairs 4 Kids Has Best Year Ever
On Friday, May 1, 2015, Dominic Fariello and several other members of the community gathered for a fun event to raise money for Wheelchairs 4 Kids at Charley’s Steakhouse in Tampa.
The event was a mock trial, with all “felons” being held until their “bail” donation goal was met, complete with Steve and Julie Weintraub of Gold and Diamond Source as the judges. Children who had previously received wheelchairs from Wheelchairs 4 Kids were at the event laughing and enjoying the spectacle as well.
The event was the most successful fundraising effort in the Wheelchairs 4 Kids history, raising over $50,000.
“It was just amazing. They made a mock jail facility right there at Charley’s. My bond was $3,000, but I was fortunate enough to raise $5,000, and the money is still coming in,” says Fariello of the event and continuous stream of donations.
“You can donate anytime, not just when I’m thrown in jail,” he then says with a smirk.
